Construction Update 9-24-2015

The roadway runaround is scheduled to be opened late in the afternoon on Saturday, October 3rd . However, to complete this, the CN Railroad will need to close Washington Street on Thursday, October 1st, to install the new gates. This will require a three day closure of Washington Street culminating in a new traffic pattern using the newly constructed roadway runaround. Please follow the detour route below.

Other ongoing project activities include the continuation of the installation of the pump station structure and the placement of embankment for the railroad shoofly track.

Construction Update 9-15-2015

The paving for the roadway runaround is complete with the exception of the area at the railroad crossings. The crossing portion will be completed once the rubber track material is placed. The roadway runaround cannot be opened until the railroad completes the installation of the crossing signals. The intermediate slab for the pump station was installed last week. Forming of the next set of pump station walls is underway. Other ongoing operations include grading for the railroad shoofly.

Construction Update 9-9-2015

Work on the roadway runaround continues. The contractor continues to pave the roadway runaround. This operation has been slightly delayed due to the recent rains. The runaround cannot be completed until the railroad completes the installation of the crossing signals. The contractor continues to form the intermediate slab for the Pump Station with a pour scheduled tomorrow. Once this is complete and cured construction of the walls will continue. Other ongoing operations include grading for the railroad shoofly.

Construction Update 9-4-2015

Work on the roadway runaround continues. The contractor began paving on Monday but due to the rain over the previous weekend only a portion could be placed. Paving continued later in the week. The roadway runaround cannot be completed until the railroad completes the installation of the crossing signals. The contractor has begun to form the intermediate slab with a pour scheduled early next week. The detention basin at the northeast section of the project has been completed. The bike path along the south side of Washington Street has been restored and open. Other ongoing operations include grading for the railroad shoofly.

Construction Update 8-26-2015

Work on the roadway runaround continues. The contractor is scheduled to pave the asphalt surface of the roadway runaround west of the tracks at the end of this week. The installation of the asphalt surface of the runaround east of the tracks is contingent on the railroad installing the track crossing material. After that, the railroad needs to install the crossing signals and the roadway runaround will be complete. The lower walls of the pump station have been installed. The contractor will form and pour the intermediate slab next week. The detention basin at the northeast section of the project is near completion with the topsoil being added yesterday. Other ongoing operations include grading for the railroad shoofly and the restoration of the bike path south of Washington Street.
