Construction Update 8-2-2017

The concrete curb and gutter as well as the medians have virtually been completed. The concrete sidewalk along the north side of Washington Street has been substantially completed. Grading for the asphalt bike path along the south side continues with the paving scheduled for next week. Final grading with topsoil placement along the north side slope east of the tracks is underway. The ornamental fence atop the north abutment is scheduled to be installed this Saturday, August 5th. Staining of the retaining walls and abutments has started and will continue into next week. The final striping along Washington Street will begin next week. Installation of the pedestrian signals at the intersection of Lake and Washington Streets has begun.

Construction Update 7-26-2017

The concrete curb and gutter continues to be installed this week with the medians to follow. The grading for the asphalt bike paths along the north and south side of Washington Street continues with sidewalk paving scheduled this week. The ornamental fence atop of the retaining walls has been completed with the fence atop the north abutment soon to be erected. The staining of the retaining walls and abutments is scheduled to begin next week. Installation of the pedestrian signals at the intersection of Lake and Washington Streets has started. The precast pump station house has been commission as of last Thursday and is operational.

Construction Update 7-19-2017

The contractor has resumed construction after a brief delay due to the major rain event. The concrete curb and gutter will continue to be installed this week with median installation to follow. The grading for the asphalt bike paths along the north and south side of Washington Street continues with paving to follow. The ornamental fence on the top of the retaining walls has been completed with the fence atop the north abutment soon to be erected. The staining of the retaining walls and abutments is scheduled to begin next week. The precast pump station house has virtually been completed with its commissioning to be held at the end this week.

Construction Update 7-12-2017

After the brief delay to the project due to the state budget crisis the contractor has resumed construction. Concrete curb and gutter installation continues this week with the medians to follow. Grading for the asphalt bike path along the south side of Washington Street as well as for the sidewalk along the north side has begun with the paving to follow. The ornamental fence on the top of the retaining walls has been completed with the fence atop the north abutment soon to be erected. The precast pump station house has virtually been completed with its commissioning to be held at the end this month.

Construction Update 6-28-2017

The concrete pavement along Washington Street and Lowlands is now complete. Installation of the concrete curb and gutter continues with the medians to follow. Grading for the asphalt bike path along the south side of Washington Street has started. Grading for the new concrete sidewalk along the north side of Washington Street will happen next. The ornamental fence on the top of the retaining walls is complete. The fence atop the north abutment will be installed next. The replacement of the bridge railing is also complete. The precast pump station house has virtually been completed with its commissioning to be held at the end of the project.
