Construction Update 3-22-2017

The north shoofly restoration was briefly postponed awaiting some direction from the CN Railroad. This work is scheduled to resume Thursday or Friday this week. The next major task for the project will be to continue excavating Washington Street. This task, however, is on hold until better consistent weather conditions can be forecasted. It is anticipated this work will resume the 2nd or 3rd week in April. The new access road for the CN Railroad emanating from the cul-de-sac has been completed in a temporary condition with its final completion anticipated this spring. The precast pump station house has virtually been completed with its commissioning to be held at the end of the project.

Construction Update 3-16-2017

The stage 2 south abutment and retaining wall has been completed. Backfilling is completed and the retention system has been removed and loaded off site. Restoration of the north shoofly has begun. The temporary access road for the CN railroad to access the tracks south of Washington Street remains in place. The precast pump station is nearing completion and will be commissioned at the end of the project.

Construction Update 3-9-2017

The stage 2 south abutment and retaining wall has been completed. Backfilling will be completed today and the extraction of the retention system will follow. Restoration of the north shoofly has begun. The new temporary access road for the CN railroad coming from the cul-de-sac has been completed. This road will be used by the CN railroad to access the tracks south of Washington Street. The precast pump station house has virtually been completed with its commissioning to be held at the end of the project.

Construction Update 3-6-2017

The stage 2 north abutment has been completed and backfilled. The stage 2 south abutment and the remaining retaining wall have been completed with their backfilling to occur this week. Restoration of the north shoofly restoration has begun. The new temporary access road for the CN railroad emanating from the cul-de-sac has been completed. This road will be used by the CN railroad to access the tracks south of Washington Street. The precast pump station house has virtually been completed with its commissioning to be held at the end of the project.

Construction Update 2-21-2017

Backfilling of the stage 2 north abutment began today. The south abutment stage 2 footing has been poured. The final section of the east retaining wall is scheduled to be poured tomorrow, February 22nd, with the final portion of the abutment to follow. The north shoofly restoration will begin next week. The storm sewer continues to be installed along the west end of the project. The new temporary access road for the CN railroad coming from the cul-de-sac has been completed. This road will be used by the CN railroad to access the tracks south of Washington Street. The precast pump station house has virtually been completed with its commissioning to be held at the end of the project.
